About Lambton (Scarlett Rd)

Lambton is the historic 19th-century milling community centred on the mouth of the Humber River, in the west end of the former City of York. The name comes from Lambton Mills, the 1840s grist and lumber mills that operated near the site of today's Lambton House hotel (built 1848) at Dundas Street West and Old Dundas Street. The Lambton area today covers the residential streets along Scarlett Road, from Dundas Street West north to Eglinton Avenue West.

Lambton Dental is on Scarlett Road inside this neighbourhood — our clinic at 23 Scarlett Rd #21 is a short walk or drive from most Lambton addresses. The area is served by the 79 Scarlett Rd bus and connects north to Eglinton Avenue West and south to the Old Mill area of the Humber River.
